A downloadable game

Based off the companion cube body, I created a game that can bring two people together to share a moment by whapping.

How to Play:

Two players sit on opposite sides of the cube and hold it off of the ground. Each player is a color (purple or orange). Each player has two places it can hit, yellow or green. Lock yourself in by touching both of the yellow and green conductive fabric on your player side. A countdown will occur that will then show either yellow or green. As fast as you can (and before your opponent), hit the correct color the LED star shows you. If you hit the correct color before your opponent, you get a point. If you hit the wrong color before your opponent, they get the point. The winner is the first player to get to five points. The winner will be basked in the glow of a rainbow color light show as well as their player color and have a few seconds to publicize their victory before the game will start over again.

How is was made:

The Circuit Design has 10 NeoPixel LEDs hooked up to 4 conductive fabric inputs. It is controlled by a Adafruit Flora and programmed on an Adruino in C. The body is made of colored wool pieces hand sewn. Pieces that are not sewn were glued and hot ironed on. Instead of wires, conductive thread was used, and plastic straws and hot glue added so that there would be no shorts in the circuit.

Who Am I:

Lisa Walkosz-Migliacio, game designer at my small indie company, Intropy Games. I make fun, colorful and mostly cute ^_^ games. This alternative controller was a fun way to break out of the mold and get thinking how two people can play a game together in real space. I hope you enjoy the video!
